Why Can’t I See Someone Else’s Max Bid?

Max Bids are not visible to other bidders. This is by design and helps ensure a fair and competitive auction environment.

What Is a Max Bid?

A Max Bid is the highest amount a bidder is willing to pay, entered into the system so it can automatically place bids on their behalf.

These amounts are kept private and are not displayed to other bidders.

Why Max Bids Are Hidden

Max Bids are confidential to protect the integrity of the auction.

If Max Bids were visible:

• Bidders could simply outbid each other by small amounts
• It would reduce fair competition
• It could lead to manipulation of the bidding process

Keeping Max Bids private ensures that all bidders compete fairly based on what they are personally willing to pay.

What You Can See

While you cannot see another bidder’s Max Bid, you can see:

• the current high bid
• whether you are the high bidder or have been outbid
• bid activity as it happens

Why You May Be Outbid Immediately

If you place a bid and are instantly outbid, it usually means another bidder has already entered a higher Max Bid.

The system automatically increases bids on their behalf up to their limit.

This is normal behavior.

Why the Current Bid May Match Your Bid But You Are Not Winning

In some cases, you may place a bid and see that the current bid is the same amount you entered, but you are not the high bidder.

This means another bidder previously entered a Max Bid at that same amount before you.

Because their Max Bid was placed first, the system gives them priority and keeps them in the lead.

To take the lead, you would need to place a higher bid.

Helpful Tips

• Enter the maximum amount you are willing to pay
• Do not rely on trying to “guess” another bidder’s limit
• Use Max Bid to stay competitive without constant monitoring

Important Reminder

All bids are processed in real time and in the order they are received.

The system does not give any bidder an advantage—Max Bid simply automates the bidding process.
