How to Submit a Tax License to Remove Sales Tax
If you have a valid sales tax license or resale certificate, you may qualify to have sales tax removed from qualifying purchases at Roller Auction. To request tax exemption, you must submit your tax license for review before payment is finalized.
Step 1: Send Your Tax License
Email a copy of your sales tax license or resale certificate to:
Please include the following information in your email:
• Your bidder number
• Your full name
• Your business name (if applicable)
This helps our accounting team match the license to the correct bidder account.
Step 2: License Review
In Colorado, the burden of proof is on the seller to ensure that a transaction qualifies for resale tax exemption.
Because of this, Roller Auction must review each request and determine whether a purchase qualifies for tax removal based on the buyer’s normal business operations.
For reference, you can review the Colorado Department of Revenue documentation here:
https://tax.colorado.gov/sites/tax/files/documents/DR5002_2023.pdf
Approval of tax exemption is at the discretion of Roller Auction based on the information provided.
Example
If your business sells used vehicles, but you purchase a wheel loader, we may not be able to remove sales tax unless you can provide documentation showing that your business normally sells heavy equipment as part of its regular operations.
This helps ensure compliance with Colorado tax regulations.
Important Notes
• Tax licenses must be submitted before payment is completed.
• Roller Auction may request additional documentation if needed.

• If a tax license expires, a current copy WILL be required before taxes can be removed.
