When and How Do I Pay for My Auction Purchases?

If you are the winning bidder on an item, payment is required according to the terms listed for that auction. After the auction closes, you will receive an email containing your invoice and payment instructions.

Automatic Credit Card Charges for Smaller Purchases

For purchases where the total invoice amount is under $500, the credit card on file with your bidder account will be automatically charged after the auction closes.

This helps speed up the payment process and allows buyers to pick up their items more quickly.

If your purchase qualifies for automatic payment, your receipt will be emailed to you once the card has been processed.

When Payment Is Due

If your purchase total is $500 or more, payment must be completed according to the terms listed in the auction.

Payment deadlines are provided in the auction terms and on your invoice.

Failure to pay within the required timeframe may result in:

• cancellation of the sale
• suspension of bidding privileges
• additional fees

How You Will Receive Your Invoice

After the auction closes, an invoice will be emailed to the address associated with your bidder account.

Your invoice will include:

• the item(s) you won
• the purchase price
• any applicable buyer’s premium
• sales tax (if applicable)
• payment instructions

If you do not receive your invoice, check your spam or junk folder.

Accepted Payment Methods for Larger Purchases

For purchases over $500, accepted payment methods may include:

• wire transfer
• credit card
• cashier's check
• Cash

The specific payment methods will affect the buyer's premium. Certified funds (Cash, Cahier's Check & Wire Transfer) will result in a 3% discount.

Sales Tax

Sales tax may be applied depending on:

• the type of item purchased
• your business tax status
• state regulations

If you have a valid sales tax license or resale certificate, you may qualify for tax-exempt purchases. See the article How to Submit Your Tax License for more information.

Important Reminder

Winning a bid creates a binding purchase agreement.

Please ensure you are prepared to complete payment before placing bids.
